For years, we have been helping retailers manage their utilities to ensure they
are not overcharged and make savings where possible. This service has proved
invaluable during the pandemic, where budgets have been restricted. We have
been able to spot overcharging quickly and save businesses time during
a stressful period of history.

Project aim was to provide the Board of Directors with confidence that their utilities were managed correctly. The Client was acting on the advice of the previously instructed company; bills that should have been challenged were approved and paid without query.
Solutions
- To validate the historic spend, 001 obtained a full
site list with suppliers and meter numbers. - Secured letters of Authority, authorising us to obtain
data and query charges for each. Supplier billing portal
access was also needed plus one recent bill per meter. - Contract, billing information and consumption data was
collated for the audit period of 6 years by our in-house team,
allowing the client to focus on their existing workload.
Savings, recoveries and resolved issues:
- 001 identified overcharges of £426,000 which
was presented to the client with detailed supporting data
from our expert Audit team. Dialogue was headed up with
suppliers to correct identified errors, managing them to a
satisfactory resolution with monies refunded to our Client. - Following the success of this project, the Client commissioned 001
to provide procurement and validation services going forward.
We have worked with 001 since 2010 in which time they have supported our growth across the UK. The 001 team have been an invaluable resource to Skechers, looking after our Energy, Water & Telecoms for existing sites as well as new openings.
With an ever-increasing portfolio of stores, it is comforting to know that our contracts are managed, our billing is verified & any issues are dealt with promptly & efficiently.
